Yakın-uzak ve tekil-çoğul
İşaret sıfatları hem MESAFEyi hem SAYIyı gösterir. Yakın+tekil: this (bu). Yakın+çoğul: these (bunlar). Uzak+tekil: that (şu/o). Uzak+çoğul: those (şunlar/onlar). 'this/that' tekil isimle, 'these/those' çoğul isimle kullanılır: this book, these books.

- This is my pen. — Bu benim kalemim.
- These are my books. — Bunlar benim kitaplarım.
- That is your bag. — Şu senin çantan.
- Those are her shoes. — Şunlar onun ayakkabıları.
This are my books. → These are my books. (Çoğul isimle 'these' gerekir.)
Those is my pen. → That is my pen. (Tekil isimle 'that' kullanılır.)
